Project Standard Keys
Project Standard 2016, 2019 and 2021: complete desktop project scheduling on one PC, without the server-based features of the Professional edition.
Project Standard keys: full scheduling on your own PC
A Project Standard key gives you Microsoft's complete desktop scheduling engine on one PC: tasks, milestones, dependencies, resources, costs and baselines, with Gantt charts and reports. It covers what most people who plan their own projects need, from €24.99. If you work with Project Server or shared enterprise resources, look at Project Professional instead.

Frequently asked questions
What can Project Standard do?
Everything you expect from a scheduling tool: build a full plan, set tasks and milestones, link them with dependencies, assign people and equipment, track costs, compare actual progress with a saved baseline and produce visual reports. In other words, it can run a project from start to finish on your own computer.
What does it not include?
Standard cannot connect to Project Server or Project Online, has no Team Planner view and cannot draw on an enterprise resource pool shared by several project managers. Those features only matter inside structured organizations. Compare both editions in our Standard vs Professional guide.
Which version of Project Standard should I pick?
The scheduling engine has barely changed since 2016, so the choice is mostly about interface and price. Project 2021 Standard has the newer look, while 2019 and 2016 keep the same core features. Microsoft no longer issues security updates for these versions, but they keep working with no time limit and open the same .mpp files.
How do I get Project Standard running?
After payment you receive the key by email, usually within a few minutes, with the official Microsoft download link. Install Project on Windows 10 or 11, enter the key and activation completes on Microsoft's servers. A key that proves defective is replaced for life, and our support team answers by email 7 days a week within 24 hours.
